Downstairs
Brook Barton is such a handsome house for large group holidays in the UK, carefully curated from an old milking parlour and two grain silos. Who woulda believed you could turn them into something this good?
At the side of the main part of the house, you step straight into the kitchen/dining room; sleek, stylish and well equipped. Off left is the living room, a big, light and airy room with full height doors you can open wide to let the fresh country air and the sunshine in. Off the living room are Bedrooms 1 and 2 and a shower room.
The towers have been very seamlessly incorporated into the design of Brook Barton; from the living room a door leads into the first tower, with a smaller kitchen/living room on the ground floor. A short corridor with a shower room links to the second tower and Bedroom 6 with its vaulted ceiling.
Upstairs
Upstairs in the former parlour are Bedrooms 3-5 and a bathroom; good to know is that all beds at Brook Barton are zip and link (super king or twin), and that Bedrooms 1 and 5 both sleep 3 so are great for families.
Upstairs in the first tower is Bedroom 7 with an ensuite shower room. It’s so clever this - cool and quirky circular rooms with full height windows that allow the light to pour in and give lovely views over the fields.
Outside
A paved terrace wraps around the house, to one side there’s a large lawn to play on, and at the back there’s outdoor ping-pong and the hot tub. You know what to do; get in, sit back, watch cotton wool clouds wander by in a sky the colour of cornflowers. Now that’s special.
